Hi All
A happy and healthy 2009 to everyone. I am very pleased to have been elected President of the Australian Institute of Urban Studies SA Chapter. Firtsly, I'd like to thank Terry Quinn, who has done an outstanding job over the last 3 years as President. Without Terry's drive and determination, we may not have had such a sucessful series of events over that period of time. I'm grateful for Terry's support and look forward to continuing to work with her. The theme for the 2009 Seminar Program is 'Planning in a Changing Climate'. We hope to cover a range of contemporary urban issues that fall out of this theme including the 30 Year Adelaide Plan, planning for a wasteless society and remaking the inner suburbs - the revitalization of West Thebarton. The full details of the program will be published shortly. In addition to the program, we are also hosting a mid year Open Forum (topic to be advised), which will be free to members joining AIUS by 31 January 2008. I look forward to a busy but exciting and rewarding year with the AIUS. Kind regards Paul Deb President, AIUS |
